Couples Glamping
Guest Diary

We were looking for a couples camp site in Devon, for my girlfriend and myself. The Quarry Pods at Dunsdon Farm seemed to fit the bill. The website for Quarry Pods and the information on the site made it very easy for us to choose.  We realised this was a quiet rural campsite, (particularly for out of season camping) and that out of season it was perfect as an adult only camping site.

Glamping for Couples -
When we arrived at the quarry pods everything was laid out perfectly, with the pods nestled down in the farm’s historic quarry, to the left of the parking area, and to the right the washroom block and communal area. Everything was close at hand!

The site was perfectly kept, clean and tidy and that everything you’d expect from a five-star couples Glamping site. More importantly though with the additions; a large Rainyday room with comfortable sofas, coffee tables and chairs; insulated and heated, so that even the coldest day you can be out of the weather. The biggest selling for me though was the camping with private bathrooms. I do not know of any other campsites that have private bathrooms and many hotels I have stayed in, haven’t had bathrooms as good as these!!.

Adult Only Campsite in Devon
Although Quarry Pod is open to everyone (including family camping) – we were staying in Early September and there were only other couples staying on the site – Paul and Kirstie (the owners) tell us that apart from the summer holidays, most other times of the year it is mainly couples and even when children are on site the noise levels are generally very low.
“An ideal campsite for couples in Devon!”

Campsite Facilities
In addition to the pods private bathrooms and the site’s Rainyday room, there are also covered communal seating areas, a large covered communal barbecue and washing up area.
Guests also have access to the farms 23 acre woodland conservation area and once a week a farm
walk takes place looking at the habitats and work that has been undertaken on the farm

What to See and Do in North Devon
There’s loads to do in North Devon for couples, music, art and of course the wonderful countryside and coastline. “You don’t need children – just time and imagination”

Devon is also known for its great local food, pubs and restaurants and these are a must for your stay.
Some particular favourites, were our afternoon tea at Hartland Abbey and a couple of visits to the Olive Tree, by the canal in Bude.
